Pools
Pools is my main painting series (2017- in progress). The Pools series is an expression of the desire to build a personal visual language through which to speak in images of reality, both the intimate one of the artist and the external one with which I constantly relate. Part of the elements that appear in the artworks recall the world of surflifesaving competitions, a discipline of the Italian Swimming Federation whose trials in the sea and in the pool simulate lifesaving actions using dummies, rescue-tubes, and other tools also used in seaside lifesaving. The mountain landscapes present in many of the artworks are the pictorial transfiguration of real places I visited over time. The first paintings of this series have been realised for my BFA project, focused on the shipwreck as visual metaphor of the existence.
