The painting would like to represent the feeling of being suspended in a muffled reality where even the strongest passions seem clouded by a veil that softens their intensity, as happens with sounds, colors and movements underwater. When you fall very low in life, even what is external and beautiful around you is affected, and for some time its beneficial influences are dormant, as well as the perception of ourselves in an unuseful attempt at defense. On the canvas, however, the colors remain, bright and alive as never before, which could indicate the way to return to the water surface.
