“In your life you will be able do whatever you want, nowadays there are no longer the barriers of the past“. Encouraging words, which when I was a child gave me a pleasant feeling of power and self-confidence. Nowadays the paths that can be taken are almost infinite, the only important thing is just to be sure you know how to get around the obstacles and take the right direction at every crossroads that life presents in the form of choice. Having such large decision-making power in your hands is really difficult to manage, because the system in which we operate is increasingly labyrinthine: the options are diversified, one fading into the other, new jobs and new opportunities are born that were unthinkable until few years ago. Have you ever had the feeling of being lost in a labyrinth of possibilities, opportunities and feasible choices to the point of not knowing how to move? It happened to me may times, and this painting is born from that unpleasant feeling – often aggravated by the idea that in most cases the choices are definitive (you don’t come, do you? The next, please!) just like when you decide to start going down a waterslide and are inevitably dragged to the end, without possibility of coming back.
