Comfort Zone

Do you know the feeling of being comfortably lying down to sunbathe, read or do what you like the best in a place that you perfectly know and love, and suddenly something destroys that balance?

After a few months I painted this canvas thinking back to the stormy events that marked my 2022, pushing me to deviate from the planned path and to reinvent some bases of my life – keeping the cornerstones but also looking for something new. The painting focuses on the balance breaking instant, which is why I chose to accentuate the contrast between lights and shadows by creating a surreal scene with a background of drama that normally does not suit the represented context of an outdoor pool with waterslides.
